Laurie Hassell
Regional Manager

Laurie Hassell graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with emphasis in Genetics and Molecular Biology. As a bench scientist at OSU, Ms. Hassell worked on projects with genes involved in plant root and shoot development.

University of Washington, Department of Molecular Biotechnology was the next stop for Ms. Hassell where instrumentation development regarding DNA sequencing and DNA arrays were her major areas of expertise.

Training and adult education in the science that underlies the biotechnology industry were the foundation of the company Ms. Hassell started with two University of Washington professors in 1996. After giving lectures and administering the daily operations of this small company, Ms. Hassell is now the Regional Manager for the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research.

Ms. Hassell's responsibilities include the regionalization of the NWABR's programs into Eastern Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, coordination of Institutional Review Board and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee conferences annually and the development of new programs serving the Associations regional members.
